This joint venture will create nearly 150 jobs on a new production site while developing supply capacities and thus promoting the production of essential medicines.
Hyderabad, India, 27 February 2023: Telangana State announced a joint venture between SGD Pharma and Corning Incorporated, two global leaders in pharmaceutical glass packaging and materials science respectively. This alliance aims to bring cutting-edge technology and production expertise to the region by combining know-howfrom the manufacture of high-quality glass canes by Corning to SGD Pharma’s expertise in converting glass vials and ampoules for the pharmaceutical industry. For SGD Pharma, this project aims to ensure the supply of quality glass canes with the aim of providing primary packaging to its Indian and international clients from the state of Telangana.

150 jobs will be created in the Mahabubnagar region of Telangana. Intended for the Indian pharmaceutical market and for export, the first products will be marketed in the first quarter of 2025.
