The consequences are manifold: threats to public health and consumer safety, unfair competition for businesses, job losses, and more. This situation is prompting companies to pay particular attention to protecting their innovations.<br> In response, EMBELIA, a French designer and distributor of primary packaging, is launching TRACK &amp; TRACE, an anti-counterfeiting solution that is unprecedented on the packaging market and enables product traceability.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TRACK &#038; TRACE solution offered by Embelia is based on a formula made up of luminescent crystals forming a unique molecular DNA, known as a tracer. This tamper-proof DNA is incorporated directly into the plastic raw material of the packaging (bottle or closure) or into the ink used for screen printing during finishing processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The luminescent tracer is revealed using a UV lamp set to a specific frequency, allowing simple, rapid detection with the naked eye. This UV frequency is the same for all tracers. Tracers are available in different colours, for example when a customer needs to differentiate between several formulas. TRACK &#038; TRACE is designed for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and perfumery sectors, as well as the plant protection, food and agrochemical industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TRACK &#038; TRACE offers several reading levels to suit each application<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three types of detector are available depending on the level of information required:<br> the first, a UV lamp, reveals the presence or absence of the anti-counterfeiting marker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second, the OT2 unit, detects the presence or absence of the marker. Connected to a mobile app, it provides more detailed information such as the geolocation of the anti-counterfeiting check, photos of the product and of the inspection environment, and true\/false results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third, the OT3 unit, offers the same functions as the OT2 unit but can also identify several different tracers. It is the ideal solution for a company that has incorporated different tracers into its bottles or closures and wishes to tell them apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Embelia&#8217;s TRACK &#038; TRACE has the advantage of integrating easily into all industrial processes, in the same way as adding a colourant, without affecting the chemical and physical properties of the product. The solution is long-lasting, as the incorporated crystals do not deteriorate over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TRACK &#038; TRACE creates the perfect chain of proof of a product&#8217;s origin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tracer is manufactured by a specialist company whose catalogue includes more than one billion formulas. This partner company registers each formula with a legal expert, and it can be accessed for expert assessment following an official request. In the event of doubt or a dispute, a laboratory analysis is carried out to provide the legal proof needed to identify the product. The formula is then compared with the one filed with the legal expert at the time of production in order to establish its origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Embelia thus guarantees a perfect chain of proof, from tracer production through to the manufacture of finished products, thanks to the use of blockchain throughout the process.
