SGD Pharma presents its new innovations at CPHI Frankfurt 2025, confirming its leadership in sustainability and technological excellence
Paris La Défense, FRANCE – [22 October 2025] — SGD Pharma, the global leader in primary glass packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, will present its expanded portfolio of products and services at stand 8.0H24 during the CPHI exhibition, which will be held in Frankfurt, in Germany, from October 28 to 30, 2025.
As part of its strategic growth plan to develop its tubular glass offering in Europe, SGD Pharma has significantly strengthened its industrial and commercial presence through the acquisition of Alphial S.r.l. company specializing in the conversion of tubular glass and the manufacture of bulbs, bottles and Ready to Use (RTU) products.
This acquisition positions SGD Pharma as a major player in the tubular segment, while consolidating its historical leadership in molded glass. It will enable the company to increase its responsiveness, production capacity and ability to innovate to meet the evolving needs of the European pharmaceutical market.
The integration of Alphial ideally complements the group’s existing activities in Europe, as well as its tubular production site in Vemula (India), recently reinforced by a joint venture with Corning. The new products presented at CPHI 2025
SGD Pharma continues its leadership by unveiling its flagship Sealian platform.
This internal surface treatment for moulded glass bottles creates a reinforced protective barrier that preserves sensitive medicines, improves chemical resistance (especially to alkaline solutions) and reduces interactions between the medicine and its container.
Available in clear or amber glass, for capacities ranging from 3 ml to 500 ml, Sealian is suitable for all routes of administration (parenteral, oral, nasal).
Other innovations exhibited at CPHI 2025:
- IDENCY: a complete range of bottles of 6 ml, 10 ml and 20 ml, combining the chemical and mechanical resistance of moulded glass with external dimensions comparable to those of standard tubular glass, for perfect compatibility with filling and finishing lines.
Sterinity EZ-fill® : flacons en verre moulé prêts à l’emploi (RTU), stériles, flexibles et de haute qualité.
- Ensiemo: complete pharmaceutical packaging system of type III with pipette, now available with tamper-proof and child-resistant caps.
Velocity® Vials: type I tubular glass vials with a low-friction external coating developed with Corning, allowing for optimized filling and finishing operations—reduced friction, improved yield (up to +20 to +50% efficiency) and decrease of the generated particles up to 96 %.
SGD Pharma will also present Proseal+, a new advanced external treatment for moulded and tubular vials, which improves protection against moisture and oxygen, thus extending the shelf life of pharmaceutical products.
A reinforcement of services and sustainable engagement
The new SGD Pharma Lab Services department is now fully operational. It offers analytical tests to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies, CMO/CDMO and other glass packaging stakeholders. Extensions to this offer are already planned for 2026.
On the sustainability front, SGD Pharma has updated its emissions reduction targets: compared to 2022, the group aims for a 42% decrease by 2030 and 65% by 2040.
In 2025, the company obtained EcoVadis' Platinum status, recognizing its ESG performance among the highest in the glass industry.
