We are leading the transformation of the pharmaceutical glass industry

We have chosen to lead the transformation of our industry and to achieve it, we have placed sustainable development at the heart of our strategy.

It guides our decisions, directs our investments and defines our long-term vision. It is integrated into all our operations and creates value for our stakeholders: customers, employees, partners, suppliers, communities and shareholders.

Thanks to the commitment of our employees, at all levels of the company and around the world, SGD Pharma has obtained among the highest scores in the pharmaceutical glass industry for sustainable development and decarbonization. Our results are concrete, recognized and valued.

We act at all levels

As a participant in the United Nations Global Compact since 2020, we continue to align our strategy with its ten principles, ensuring at all levels of the company that human rights, labor standards, environmental responsibility and ethical business practices remain at the heart of our operations.

We have established robust governance based on three strategic pillars:

1. Our People: Being an Exemplary Employer

2. Our Business Values: Embodying a Responsible Industry

3. Our Environmental Aspects: Reducing the Environmental Impact of our Operations

Pillar 1 : OUR TEAM

Being an Exemplary Employer

Our people are at the heart of our sustainability journey. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing work environment.

01
Ensuring the health and safety of our employees worldwide
  • Implementation of a zero-accident policy: systematic monitoring and analysis of workplace accidents, annual awareness campaign inviting all employees to work on a topic related to workplace safety, training for managers in safety leadership
  • Regular measurement of engagement and well-being at work via a global “Your Voice” survey. The survey reached 100% of the Group’s employees, giving them a voice and allowing us to turn their feedback into concrete actions.
  • Implementation of programs promoting work-life balance.
02
Continue the development of skills
  • Implementation of Job Management and Career Paths (GEPP)
  • Follow-up on training programs
03
Promoting equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion
04
Promote social dialogue

Pillar 2 : our business values

Embody a responsible industry

We conduct our business with the highest standards of ethics, transparency and integrity.

Adopt uncompromising governance
in terms of ethics and the fight against corruption

  • Comprehensive mapping of corruption risks
  • Dedicated training programs
  • Confidential “alert launch” reporting system

Thanks to a global training campaign on reporting irregularities for all employees and a completely redesigned due diligence framework for third parties, the Group has significantly strengthened its ability to detect, prevent and manage ethical risks, integrating high standards across its operations and value chain.

Supporting our suppliers
on the path to responsible practices

Pillar 3 : OUR ENVIRONMENT

Reduce the environmental impact of our operations

01
Decarbonize, our top priority

Thanks to a clear roadmap and sustained investments, we are transforming our industrial processes in order to significantly reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining our operational excellence.

We have set clear targets: – 42% CO2 emissions (scopes 1 and 2, base 2022) by 2030 and -65% by 2040, as well as a trajectory to limit warming to 1.5°C under the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative.

  • Reconstruction of new generation glass furnaces, more energy efficient
  • Gradual electrification of certain industrial processes
  • Increase in the share of renewable energies in our energy mix
02
Preserve water resources
  • Target: – 42% water withdrawals per ton produced by 2030 vs 2020
  • Rainwater harvesting
  • Optimization of cooling systems
  • Real-time monitoring of consumption
  • Advanced water treatment plants
03
Prevent accidental pollution

Our commitment is supported by demanding international certifications:

  • Ecovadis Scorecard
  • ISO 14001 – environmental management
  • ISO 50001 – energy management
  • ISO 45001 – Occupational health and safety
  • ISO 9001 – quality management
  • ISO 15378 – quality of pharmaceutical packaging
